Charlie Stillwell
Head Coach

Coach Charlie Stillwell Charlie has been the Archbishop Wood Head coach for both the Boys and Girls team since the 1997-1998 swim season. Charlie was and assistant coach with Wood in 1996 before taking over as head coach and was an assistant coach with the Wood girls team in 1984 and 1985. His swimming career began as a freshman where he swam for Archbishop Wood, making All-Catholic his last three years on the team, where he was a Co-Captain his Senior year. He went on the swim in college at the University of Maryland where he set school records in the 100 Breaststroke and 400 Medley Relay his Junior year. Charlie currently works in the computer industry as a system administrator.

Rachael Gnias
Assistant Coach

Coach Rachael GniasRachael swam for Wood, graduated in 2008, was part or our PCL winning girls team and was team captain. She swam for University of Scranton and received her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University. Rachael brings a wealth of experience and attitude to our team.

MariKate Cook
Assistant Coach

Coach Angie Nurek MariKate is new to our coaching team. She swam for Wood from 2006 to 2009, was Captain her Senior year and led the Wood girls to two PCL titles. She continued her swimming career at Widener University. She now works as an administrative assistant..


Kim Higginson
Assistant Coach


Coach Kim HigginsonKim is in her 2nd year as a coach for Wood this year and brings a wealth of experience. Kim has a masters in education and teaches at Nativity of Our Lord. Kim has been coaching for over 10 years and was head coach for Archbishop Carroll High School for 2 years. Kim is also a Lifeguard Instructor.



Ian Mee
Assistant Coach

Coach Ian MeeIan is in his Second year as an assistant coach. Ian swam for Wood and graduated in 2011. He graduated from Temple with a degree in Physical Therapy where he swam for the Temple club swim team. Ian brings a very enthaustic attitude to our team. Ian is currently working on his Docturate degree at University of the Sciences.
